Understanding the Initial Data Sync Between ReviewX and Your Store

After connecting ReviewX to your account, you’ll see a sync process running in the background — this is normal, and it’s what makes review reminders, discount automation, and your dashboard analytics work correctly.

What gets synced

ReviewX syncs your products, orders, customers, coupons, and existing reviews to your ReviewX account. This is what lets features like review-request emails know which orders are eligible, and what your dashboard analytics are built from.

How long it takes

Most stores finish syncing in 5–10 minutes. Larger catalogs or order histories can take longer. You can keep using wp-admin normally while it runs — a progress indicator on the ReviewX dashboard shows when it’s complete.

My sync seems stuck

If the progress indicator hasn’t moved in a long while:

  1. Go to Plugins → Installed Plugins, deactivate ReviewX, then reactivate it — this resets and restarts the sync.
  2. Check the ReviewX dashboard to confirm a new sync has started.
  3. If it stalls again, contact our support team — large or unusual catalog structures occasionally need a manual nudge on our end.

Do I need to sync again later?

No — after the initial sync, ReviewX keeps your data up to date automatically as new orders, reviews, and coupons happen. You’d only re-trigger a full sync manually if you suspect something is out of date (for example, after a large bulk import).
