If you’re still on ReviewX V1, moving to V2 is a free, in-place update — no new purchase, no manual data migration, and your existing reviews carry over automatically.
Before you update
Back up your site and database first. Updates are generally safe, but it’s worth having a fallback for any change of this size.
Step 1: Update the plugin
Go to wp-admin → Plugins → Installed Plugins, find ReviewX, and click Update Now.
Step 2: Run through Quick Setup
After the update, the V2 onboarding wizard opens automatically. Go through it step by step (brand color, layout, criteria, photo reviews, review requests), or skip through with the defaults — nothing here is permanent, and every choice can be changed later. See Completing the Onboarding Wizard for details on each step.
Step 3: Sign in or create your account
At the end of the wizard, sign in with your existing Client Portal email/password or license key, or click Create a Free Account if you don’t have one. This connects the plugin and starts the initial data sync.
What changes for you
Existing reviews, criteria, and settings all carry over. V2 adds a cleaner admin interface, faster performance, and features that weren’t possible in V1’s architecture (Gutenberg blocks, the Tools page, per-page review limits, and more).
Changed your mind? V2 also supports a one-click rollback to V1 if needed.
