When ReviewX releases new feature updates, new settings, controls, or storefront elements may introduce new text strings to the plugin. Because your existing translation files (.po and .mo) were created from an earlier release, they will not automatically contain these newly added strings.

Using Loco Translate, you can synchronize your existing translations in a single click without losing any of your previously translated work.

When Should You Sync Translations?

You should run a translation sync whenever:

• You update ReviewX to a major or minor version (e.g., from 3.0 to 3.1).
• You notice untranslated English strings appearing on your storefront after an update.
• ReviewX releases new features, such as custom post type review widgets, new email triggers, or new filter types.

Step-by-Step: Synchronizing ReviewX Strings

1. Navigate in your WordPress admin to Loco Translate → Plugins.
2. Click on ReviewX – Multi-Criteria Rating & Reviews.
3. Under the Overview tab, click on the language you wish to update (e.g. Spanish or German).
4. In the editor toolbar, click the [1] Sync button.

What Happens During Sync?

When you click Sync:

• Loco Translate reads ReviewX’s updated master template files (languages/reviewx.pot and languages/frontend.pot).
• It identifies any new text strings introduced in the update and appends them to your translation list as untranslated.
• It preserves 100% of your existing translated strings without modification.
• Any deprecated strings that no longer exist in the new version are safely marked for cleanup.

Step 3: Translate New Strings & Save

1. Use the [2] Filter translations search input or sort by untranslated strings to review newly added text.
2. Click on each new string in [3] String List, enter your translation in the editor pane, and verify the wording.
3. Click Save in the toolbar.
4. Loco Translate immediately recompiles the .mo binary file in your wp-content/languages/loco/plugins/ directory.
5. Clear your website cache (and ReviewX cache via ReviewX → Settings → Tools) to see the new translations live.
