Translating ReviewX with WPML

Step 1: Scan ReviewX for Strings

1. Ensure both WPML Multilingual CMS and WPML String Translation add-ons are installed and active.
2. In your WordPress dashboard, go to WPML → Theme and plugins localization.
3. Scroll down to the Strings in the plugins section, locate ReviewX, and check the checkbox beside it.
4. Click Scan selected plugins for strings. WPML will register all gettext strings under the reviewx text domain.

Step 2: Translate Strings in WPML String Translation

1. Go to WPML → String Translation.
2. In the In domain dropdown, select reviewx.
3. Search for user-facing strings such as Write a review, Verified Owner, Recommendation, or Helpful.
4. Click the Translations link next to any string, enter the translation for each active language, check Translation is complete, and click Save.

Step 3: Translating Multi-Criteria & Product Reviews

• Criteria Titles: Custom criteria names (e.g. “Quality”, “Size”) configured in ReviewX admin are translatable through WPML String Translation under the admin_texts_rvx_settings context.
• Product Synchronization: When translating a WooCommerce product with WPML WooCommerce Multilingual (WCML), ReviewX automatically associates reviews with the canonical product group or displays reviews per language according to your WCML review display preferences.

Translating ReviewX with Polylang

If you use Polylang or Polylang for WooCommerce:

1. Go to Languages → Translations in your WordPress admin.
2. Filter strings by the reviewx group.
3. Enter the translated text for each storefront label across your configured language columns.
4. Click Save Changes.
