If ReviewX V2 isn’t working the way you expected, you can switch back to V1 without losing your existing reviews. Rollback is built into the plugin as a one-click, automated process — you don’t need to manually reinstall an old version yourself first.
Before you roll back
- Back up your site and database. Rollback is safe by design, but any change of this size is worth a fresh backup first.
- Don’t close or refresh the browser tab once you’ve started the rollback until it reports completion.
Step 1: Start the rollback
Go to wp-admin → ReviewX → Rollback to V1. Read the on-screen disclaimer, then click Start Rollback to confirm you’ve read it.
Step 2: Let it run
Click Rollback to begin. The process runs automatically and restores your V1 settings and review data without further input.
Step 3: After the rollback finishes
- Uninstall ReviewX V2 from your site.
- Download and install ReviewX V1 from the Development Version section on the plugin’s WordPress.org page.
- If you were on a paid plan, reactivate your license from the V1 settings screen to restore premium features.
