How to Use ReviewX Gutenberg Blocks

ReviewX includes native Gutenberg blocks for every review shortcode, so if your site uses the WordPress block editor (or a block theme with full-site editing) you don’t need to remember shortcode syntax at all — search for “ReviewX” in the block inserter and configure each block visually, with a live preview right in the editor.

Where to find them

In the block editor, click the + inserter and type “ReviewX.” All eight blocks appear under the Widgets category:

Block Equivalent shortcode Attributes
ReviewX Review List [rvx-review-list] Title, Product ID, Post ID, Post Type, Filter, Sort By, Rating, Attachment, Per Page
ReviewX Review Form & List [rvx-woo-reviews] Title, Product ID, Post ID, Graph, Filter, List, Form, Sort By, Rating, Attachment, Per Page
ReviewX Criteria Graph [rvx-criteria-graph] Title, Product ID, Post ID
ReviewX Rating Summary [rvx-summary] Title, Product ID, Post ID
ReviewX Review Statistics [rvx-stats] Title, Product ID, Post ID
ReviewX Star Rating Count [rvx-star-count] Title, Product ID, Post ID
ReviewX Google Reviews [rvx-google-review] Title, Place ID, Limit, Truncate, Load More, Cache
ReviewX Selected Reviews [rvx-reviews] Title, Review IDs

Example: Review List block

  1. Insert the ReviewX Review List block into a post or page.
  2. In the block settings sidebar, leave Product ID blank to auto-detect the page’s own product, or set it explicitly to always pull one product’s reviews.
  3. Toggle Filter, Sort By, Rating, and Attachment on or off, and set Per Page.
  4. The editor shows a live preview as you change settings — no need to save and check the front end.

Blocks vs. shortcodes vs. Classic Widgets

All three ultimately render the exact same underlying review markup — they’re just three different ways to configure the same shortcode attributes:

  • Gutenberg blocks — best inside post/page content on the block editor, with live preview.
  • Classic Widgets — best for widget areas on classic/widget-based themes.
  • Shortcodes — best for page builders (Elementor, Divi, Oxygen) or when you need an attribute the block/widget UI doesn’t expose (e.g. designer_id on the review form).
