Can’t log the ReviewX plugin into your account? Most login failures fall into a handful of known cases — here’s how to identify and fix each one.
General first step: reset the connection
- Go to Plugins → Installed Plugins, deactivate ReviewX, then reactivate it.
- You’ll be taken back to the Quick Setup page — click through it or choose Skip to Sign In.
- On the login screen, enter your Client Portal email and password (or your license key) and submit again.
This clears a stuck local connection state and resolves most one-off login failures.
“Invalid credentials”
The email/password combination doesn’t match a Client Portal account. Double-check for typos, or use Forgot Password to reset it.
“Invalid license” or “License already in use”
The key was mistyped, or it’s already activated on a different site. Copy the key again from Client Portal → Licenses, or remove the other site from that license first, or generate a new key.
“Domain mismatch” or “Site already exists”
ReviewX ties a license to a specific site domain. This error appears when:
- The license key was generated with a different domain in mind (e.g. a staging URL vs. your live domain), or
- This domain is already connected to your account under a different license — check the Licenses page for a duplicate entry and remove or reuse it as needed.
Agency accounts: must use a license key
If your Client Portal account is on an Agency plan, the plugin requires login via license key — email/password login is disabled for agency accounts by design, since agencies typically manage many keys across client sites rather than sharing one login.
Still not working?
Hard-refresh the page and clear any caching plugin’s cache, then try again. If the error persists, contact our support team with the exact error message shown — it tells us exactly which check failed.
