When migrating a WooCommerce store from a local staging environment (e.g., staging.mystore.com or mystore.local) to a live production domain, or when rebranding your store under a new domain name, you need to migrate your ReviewX License Key so synchronization continues seamlessly.
This guide explains how to release an existing domain and re-authorize ReviewX on your new URL in under two minutes.
Step 1: Release the Domain in the ReviewX Client Portal
- Sign in to the ReviewX Client Portal.
- Navigate to the Licenses tab in the sidebar.
- Locate the license key assigned to your old domain.
- In the Connected Sites column, locate the old URL and click the Deactivate / Disconnect button.
- Confirm the prompt. The license slot is immediately freed and returns to your available inventory.
Step 2: Connect ReviewX on the New Domain
- Log in to the WordPress admin dashboard of your new production store.
- Ensure the ReviewX plugin is installed and activated.
- Navigate to ReviewX → Onboarding (or ReviewX → Settings → License).
- Paste your license key (prefix
lk-...) into the key field. - Click Connect and Sync.
Step 3: Trigger Initial Data Synchronization
- Once connected, ReviewX will establish a secure handshake with ReviewX Cloud.
- Go to ReviewX → Tools → Synchronization and click Sync now to ensure all historical product ratings, criteria scores, and reviews populate on the new domain.
