Imports, sync hiccups, or a customer double-submitting a review can all leave duplicate reviews behind — the same feedback attached to the same product more than once. ReviewX’s Duplicate Review Cleanup tool finds these automatically and lets you remove the extras with one click.
Step 1: Scan for duplicates
Go to ReviewX → Tools → Duplicate Review Cleanup and run a scan. ReviewX groups reviews it considers duplicates — same reviewer, same post, matching feedback — and shows each group in a table with:
- Post — the product or CPT entry, with its post type badge
- Reviewer — who left the review
- Feedback — a preview of the review text
- Duplicates — how many extra copies were found
- Keep review — which single copy ReviewX will keep
- Last found — when the most recent duplicate appeared
Step 2: Review a group
Each group shows exactly which review will be kept and how many “extra” copies will be removed — check this before removing anything, especially if two customers happened to leave very similar (but genuinely separate) feedback.
Step 3: Remove duplicates
Click Remove on a single group, or clear multiple groups at once. You’ll be asked to confirm — this permanently deletes the duplicate reviews from both WordPress and your ReviewX account, keeping only the one marked to stay.
This can’t be undone
Removed duplicate reviews are permanently deleted, not moved to trash. Re-scan afterward to confirm your review counts and ratings look correct.
